The result of research done in Macao and Goa, this book recounts the life and times of a 17-century Macao-born Portuguese knight who was sent by the Viceroy of India to Siam to establish commercial ties and to try to expel the French from the Siamese court. It provides a unique glimpse of life in 17th century Macao as well as an overview of relations between Siam and Macao at the time.

The musical group Company Segundo (Buena Vista Social Club, Lo Mejor de la Vida) summed up everything that Cuba evokes ¨C music, revolution, tobacco, rum, and women. Its director, Claude Santiago, a ¡°cigar-rolling musician¡± had been part of the musical history of his country for more than 75 years and has become a Cuban legend.

In 1959, Bruce Lee left Hong Kong for the US as a teenager full of angst, unaware of the fame and fortune waiting for him in the future as a martial arts action star. When he came home in 1963, his family documented the summer visit with photographs and saved mementos. This volume, a compilation of fascinating photographs from that summer with notes from Lee¡¯s closest family members, is one of a limited edition of only 1,000 copies distributed worldwide.
