Cultural Affairs Bureau launches “WH Macau” for Android

The iPhone App “WH Macau”, launched last year by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (CAB), has already reached more than 15,000 users. The application will now be lauched for the operating system Android, in order to reach the users of all kinds of smartphones, so that they can access, wherever they are, the latest information and developments regarding the World Heritage-listed sites via a clear and practical interface.
Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre to be closed for maintenance

In order to keep the Centre in good condition, there will be a large scale repair and maintenance work to be carried out from 25th October 2011. The Centre will be closed during the 180-day period for maintenance. The renovated Centre will be reopened to the public at the beginning of May 2012 upon completion of maintenance work.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition For the People – Sun Yat-sen and Macao took place at 5pm on Friday, the 23rd of September, at the Macao Museum. Presiding over the opening ceremony was the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao S.A.R.

To commemorate the centenary of the Xinhai Revolution in grand style, the Cultural Affairs Bureau, starting in September, will hold a series of activities, including large-scale thematic exhibitions, conferences and seminars, historical guided tours of Dr. Sun Yat Sen’s revolutionary sites as well as two musical events.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau has launched the iPhone App “WH Macau”. The application enriches the experience of “Strolling through the Historic Centre of Macao” by providing residents and tourists, wherever they are, with the latest information and developments regarding the World Heritage-listed sites via a clear and practical interface.
