The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is launching its “ARTmusing Summer”, bringing a string of workshops, performances and screenings specially curated to entertain and inspire a vast audience throughout the warm season. From babies to seniors, this year’s edition is back with artistic suggestions and entertaining ideas for all.
01-30.08.2020 ARTmusing Summer Workshops
Specially devised to widen views and boost creativity in a diversity of audiences, these popular workshops will turn little innocent eyes into blossoming artistic souls. Nurturing parent-child memories, the family workshops will be switching on the artistic potential of daddies and mommies, encouraging them to enjoy great times with their children. Those with curious minds are called upon too, challenged to express themselves through an exciting journey of rhythms and sounds. While the youngest voices may enjoy folk textures or live through a blasting Broadway experience, senior friends will find that it’s never too late to sing, dance and reinvent themselves.
20-23.08.2020 The Peakture
Kids aged four and above are being asked to put on their hiking shoes and follow young Lumi in an adventure up above. Theatre group The Stone Commune is staging The Peakture, a joyful performance without words but with plenty of visual effects, combining body movement and puppetry to the sound of the local group Water Singers. A couple of friendly performers will interact in a camping site, set up close to the audience, where they won’t miss a thing on the way to the snow-capped peak.
On screen dreams
27-30.08.2020 ARTmusing Film Carnival
Particularly selected for kids and teens, but also the rest of the family, the “ARTmusing Film Carnival” is back with a series of eight international works. Grownups will share a great time with their offspring, watching a range of motion pictures, from imaginative animations to meaningful and heart-warming stories, recently presented in screens around the world.
For the season’s grand finale, families will be joining yet another great celebration. Taken by a great flow of creative activities and games, kids are invited to enjoy an afternoon specially planned to cheer and inspire everyone. From puppetry workshops and lively performances to arts and crafts, the ARTmusing Fun provides unique moments of artistic dare and close bonding. This is a fun-filled family journey through the arts, sharing and releasing all the great energies of life.
And as the city is living through exceptional times, given the current epidemic situation, attendance will be limited at all events to guarantee a safe distance between attendees. Venues will be sanitized before each event and everyone in the premises is required to wear a mask, present the health declaration and have their temperature monitored. Due to these adjustments, patrons are advised to arrive early at the venues.
Tickets for all “ARTmusing Summer” programmes will be on sale from 28 June (Sunday) at Macao Ticketing Network, and pre-registration for the workshops will start on 30 June (Tuesday). For details please visit CCM’s website at www.ccm.gov.mo or call (853) 2840 0555.
